Our story

We've been around fragrance for more than 30 years, since age 21. We're self-made. As fragrance became more popular, we got into dupes and watched the fragrance community grow.

We built ScntMix because we needed a reliable place to check a fragrance before a blind buy and not get burned. This is for the people, by the people: we draw on the fragrance community, reviewers, creators, and the references we explain on our Sources & Methodology page.

How MixMode scores work

MixMode compares fragrance families and their relationships, checks for shared notes, and adjusts compatibility when intensities differ substantially. It suggests a layering order based on concentration and intensity and a ratio based on the intensity difference. These are descriptive guides, not guaranteed results on every person's skin.
